Though my love for Calvin is immeasurable and continues to grow, not one day goes by that I don’t wish he was normal, healthy, complete, able to run, play, jabber—and dream—and not have to deal with the wrath that is epilepsy.
Just reading some about Kurzweil's "Singularity is Near" book. He mentions some progress in the use of increasingly powerful computers, chaos theory and pattern recognition to be used, hopefully to soon outsmart epileptic seizure signals. As far as I can understand. Sort of like sound cancelling earphones, maybe soon a neat little Iphone app connected to massive computing power can pre-sense epileptic seizure patterns and counteract them using the spare resources of a million idle computers to intercept and defeatI.e the speed of light vs speed of synaptic chemical transmissions.
It is exciting to watch the speed of all this research and computing power being put to good use, like helping Calvin. Keep up the good work.
Nice video. Calvin has more patience than I do.
