This is such a beautiful quote. As a person with epilepsy (another of Dr. Thiele's patients), one of the Buddha's quotes that has meant most to me over the years is a simple and somewhat enigmatic phrase he was said to have uttered to one of his followers when he was sick: "Sun-faced Buddha, moon-faced Buddha." I think that he meant that sick or healthy (seizing or not) a person is their same self regardless. I often felt literally like a different person when I was having seizures and it took me many years to integrate the times that I was having seizures with the rest of my life. But doing so was a really important step for me. Thank you so much for your posts--they are a really wonderful way of raising awareness.
